A half set of lashes are an economical alternative to achieve a similarly dramatic effect, applied as filler to thicken natural lashes, or applied outward from the eye for a specialized look.Everyone has different lashes, and depending on the condition of your own natural lashes, lash experts can only go a certain length or thickness. (This is to ensure that your own lashes remain healthy.) For example, if your natural lashes are on the shorter, thinner side, you won’t be able to get a crazy, dramatic Kim Kardashian look, because it won’t last. It’s better to start out with a half set

Why 3D Strip Lashes Are Popular?

False eyelashes, lash extensions, and strip lashes have become an easy and convenient way to look beautiful. They make your eyes lovely, lift up the eyes and open them up to make them look bigger, lovelier, and more attractive.

However, there are plenty variety of lashes or extensions . You have to choose  the right ones to enhance your looks.

False lashes however, have been a favorite of women when it comes to intensifying their look, with 3D eyelashes specifically, lashes designed to work with your own eyelashes for a full and natural look .

3D eyelash strips are arguably the best of the best when it comes to false lashes. Easier to use and longer lasting, 3D eyelash strips are actual strips of 3D lashes — not just individual lashes you apply one by one— you can apply in full set .

There are lots of reason to get yourself 3D strip lashes, and below the  reasons why our 3D strip mink lashes are not only great, they are a must!

图片1 图片2They’ll give you a bold look, without all the discomfort of standard false lashes. Because our lashes are made to not only look fluffier, but actually be lighter, wearing them from morning into the late hours of the night feels natural.

2.They look totally natural. Because they are designed to work with your existing lashes, he 3D strip mink lashes will actually look like your own.

3.You’ll get a darker more saturated look. The reason for this comes in two parts. First, the Minks itself actually has a darker, more rich color naturally, when paired with the 3D design, your lashes will not only appear to be darker, they will look significantly fuller as well.

4.They will last longer than standard synthetic false eyelashes, up to 25 uses long in fact. Why? Because of how they are made. The lashes themselves are made of real minx and the bands are each handmade from cotton thread. This means they are not only light, they are durable with a lot of room for flexibility and movement.

5.They are easy to use. 3D lashes traditionally require a lot of time to put on as well as a really experienced hand. But withour 3D strip lashes, anybody can enjoy 3D lashes!

DIFFERENCE AMONG MINK, SILK AND FAUX MINK EXTENSIONS

Some friends maybe don’t know what is mink and silk eyelash,so this time this article maybe helpful.

图片1While faux mink tends to be the most popular material for eyelash extensions these days, there actually several different kinds. It’s easy to get confused with all the “mink/faux mink talk”, throw in “silk” and you’re like…huh? Let’s break down what the different types of eyelash extensions are and how they differ from each other.

Mink, Faux Mink, and Silk extensions are the most commonly used. The main difference between them comes down to their firmness, are they real fur, faux fur or are they synthetic.

Mink

Usually used on older clients or those going for an extremely natural look. The allure of extensions made from mink hair is that they have a natural quality to them that you cannot get from synthetic material. Real Mink lashes come from the Mink tail, usually coming from either the Siberian Mink or the Chinese Mink. With Mink extensions, you’ll get a light, fluffy, soft natural look. Real mink lashes usually last longer because they are so light as well as being able to apply several mink extensions per natural lash. The downside to this type of extension is that not only are they expensive, ranging from $300-$500 per set, but they also do not come curled. Real mink lashes need to be permed and you’ll have to keep curling them at home to maintain that curled look.

Faux Mink

Faux mink eyelash extensions are the most popular extensions used by lash artists today. These man made, poly-fiber lashes come in a variety of lengths, diameters and curls, have good flexibility and remain somewhat natural looking depending on the length. They’re designed to imitate real mink fur, but lash artists and clients both love this of extension type because the curl is permanent and they’re low maintenance. No need to curl or put mascara on these types of extensions. The Faux Mink lashes are a little more bold, slightly glossier than the Silk and Mink. Because of their variety of size and length they’re great for customizing different looks for each client.

Silk

These are the mid-weight type of lash extensions, and are finer and more flexible than the synthetic type which makes their retention slightly better. Because of their lightweight they are good to use on older clients or clients with weak and flimsy natural lashes. Like synthetic lashes, silk come in a variety of curls and lengths. These types of extensions also hold their curl but the curl tends to be less uniform then synthetic lashes, making them better for clients looking for a more natural look. Silk lashes tend to be thicker than any other type of extensions and also have that rick black color. They tend to be the least comfortable type of extension and are best used for special occasions.

图片3

Deciding between the different types of eyelash extensions to use will depend on your client. Their age, the occasion, the look they’re going for will all play a factor in deciding which extension to work with.

How to choose the most suitable eyelashes ?

Today, One of the questions ladies regularly asked is about the difference between silk, synthetic (also known as ‘acrylic’), mink and volume eyelash extensions.

Using all three of these materials, we’re very familiar with the difference, pros and cons of different kinds, and why you might choose one over the others.

Here’s a little rundown on each type, the pros and cons, and who they are most suitable for, to help you choose your next set of lash extensions!

Synthetic eyelash extensions: These are made from a polished, acrylic material and are the firmest/sturdiest of all. In appearance, they are a little shinier or glossier than the mink or synthetic, and when applied quite thickly, more dramatic.

图片1

Features:

Advantage:

  • Theyare popular with ladies wanting a more dramatic and made-up look.
  • They are most suitable for those with healthy, dense lashes of their own, and are generally favoured by younger clients.

Disadvantage:

  • Some people don’t find them as ‘soft’or ‘natural’ looking than silk or mink eyelash extensions, and while they last a long time, the thickest type (we use a maximum of 0.20 mm in width) don’t have quite as good staying power as the silk and definitely not the mink.
  • Because they are heavier in weight than silk or mink eyelash extensions, for many people they are not a great option.

Suggerstions:

Personally I feel that silk or mink are the only types of extensions that should be worn long-term, to cause no thinning of natural lashes. We still offer synthetic simply because it’s what some clients want. And on some, with very thick natural lashes, it can look simply fantastic.

Silk eyelash extensions: These are the mid-weight type of lash extensions, and are finer and more flexible than the synthetic type. Because they are softer and more porous, they tend to hold on slightly longer than the synthetic ones.

Features:

Advantage:

  • They can be made to look very natural or very glamorous,
  • Because they are lighter weight, they are often a much better option for your lashes if your own ones are weak or fine.
  • They definitely last longer than synthetic lashes .

Disadvantage:

Sometimes quite as dense/thick as the synthetic lashes.

Suggerstions:

Like synthetic lashes, silk come in a variety of curls and lengths, though are a better option for a more natural look, as the curl is not generally as uniform or as ‘plasticky’ as synthetic lashes.

Glamour sets of silk lashes are one of the most popular options for brides, who are looking for lashes that are full and long yet still natural looking.

Faux-mink lash extensions: At Lady Lash, we’re against animal cruelty, which we why we do not and never will use real mink fur for lash extensions (more on this in a later post). We use faux-mink lashes, which are man-made fibres, designed to imitate real mink fur.

图片3

Features:

Advantage:

  • They are very fine, soft and silky, just like real fur.
  • They have been improved, in that if you wet them, they won’t lose their curl.
  • They are also shinier in texture than the silk lashes, giving the lashes a glossy look.
  • They are (with proper care!) very long lasting, and are great if your own lashes are fine and weak.

Disadvantage:

It takes a longer time (around 1.5-2 hours) to apply a set of mink lashes .

Volume Eyelash Extensions – NEW

Applied using silk or mink only eyelash extensions

Designed to provide as much volume as possible, but in a way that does not overload or damage the natural lashes, this new technique promising the most stunning results.

Volume 3D eyelashes are superfine and incredibly light, meaning that 2-6 lashes can be applied per natural lash to create volume on any type of eyelash. They last longer than classic eyelash extensions due to their light weight and the amount applied.

Eyelash Extensions: Tips You Need To Know

Most women don’t have the time or patience to apply fake eyelashes every day. We barely have enough time to use an eyelash curler! So it’s no surprise that lash extensions have become increasingly popular in recent years. But to what lengths are you willing to go for a sexy flutter like Adele or Katy Perry? Feeling a bit apprehensive about trying this beauty treatment? Now, we will debunk the myths of lash extensions.
How long does it take to apply lash extensions?
Applying a full set of lashes takes about two hours, and can be maintained year-round with touch-ups recommended every three to four weeks. A half set of lashes are an economical alternative to achieve a similarly dramatic effect, applied as filler to thicken natural lashes, or applied outward from the eye for a specialized look.

Everyone has different lashes, and depending on the condition of your own natural lashes, lash experts can only go a certain length or thickness. (This is to ensure that your own lashes remain healthy.) For example, if your natural lashes are on the shorter, thinner side, you won’t be able to get a crazy, dramatic Kim Kardashian look, because it won’t last. It’s better to start out with a half set (50 to 60 percent of your top lashes) if you aren’t sure or it’s your first time. It’s easier to add more than to remove lashes!
How often do you need to get lash extensions redone?
Lash extensions last through a full growth cycle of natural eyelashes, typically six to eight weeks. That said, because each person’s lash growth is somewhat variable (just hair growth), I suggest light lash maintenance every three to four weeks to maintain a full look.
Will your natural lashes get harmed or damaged?
The biggest myth is that lash extensions ruin your own lashes. They do not. If applied correctly and properly, they are safe and do not ruin the health of your natural lashes. Be sure not to rub your eyes or tug or pull on the extensions because this can cause lash loss and even damage to your natural lashes. If lashes are applied properly and to each individual lash, they won’t fall out.
What happens when you cry?
If you experience any burning or discomfort during the procedure, causing your eyes to tear or making you cry, this is a huge red flag and you should certainly speak up. You may need to have your technician change the glue. Getting lash extensions should be a completely pain-free experience.
Just like you would with a hairstylist, research who you want to go to and how long they have been working as a technician. Look at before-and-after photos, read reviews and always make sure they are licensed and lash-certified.

Classic VS Volume Extensions

The classic and volume eyelash extension is main eyelash extension now .

Which you prefer? Maybe we need to know the differences.

Classic lashes

图片1

Classic lashes are one extension applied to one natural lash only, so if you only have 50 suitable natural lashes per eye ,then you will only achieve a look of 50 eyelash extensions ,therefore if you only have 50 suitable natural lashes per eye, then you will only achieve a look of 50 eyelash extensions, whereas if you have 100 natural lashes per eye then you will achieve a look of 100 extensions per eye.

Classic lashes are suitable for the following client:

  • Clients that have a good amount of healthy natural lashes
  • Clients that are younger and have few gaps in their lash line
  • Clients that desire a natural/medium effect

Russian Volume

QQ图片20170411085948

Russian Volume is an extremely advanced technique that only the experienced and highly skilled technician can offer.Russian Volume is the use of multiple ultra fine extensions, that are hand created at the time of application by the therapist using their specially designed tweezers. The therapist skilfully creates bouquets of eyelash extensions that are then placed onto the natural lash in a fanned effect, to create extra fluff, coverage and fullness than cannot be created with classic extensions. Although we use multiple extensions, the fan is still placed onto one individually isolated natural lash in a method that encases the natural lash, and results in great retention with zero damage.

A good Russian Volume therapist is not created overnight. To learn this advanced technique takes many hours of practice, as well as additional training courses over the months and years. There are not that many ‘good’ Russian Volume therapists in the UK, due to the intricate and time-consuming nature of the treatment. Therefore, please do your research when looking for your technician.

Russian Volume is the most versatile lash treatment that we offer, and will suit most clients. Russian Volume is perfect for the older client with sparse natural lashes, where extra coverage and a soft fluffy look is required (light weight volume set 3/4/D). Russian Volume is also suitable for the client who desires a more glamorous and thicker looking set than can be achieved with classic lashes (heavy weight volume set 5/6D). The level of fullness can vary with Russian Volume, which allows us to create the effect suited to the client’s requirements.

What do you know about eyelash ?

Recently we heard that some people were worried about using eyelashes. Here this article is written by my friend, maybe it’s helpful to you.

图片1

In her Meet The Team profile, Glossier’s Digital Designer Nadine Head-Gordon had this nugget of wisdom to share: “I used to get eyelash extensions, when you essentially get synthetic eyelashes semi-permanently glued onto your real eyelashes. I wanted to look like Bambi. I was on a date with a guy and one of them fell onto my cheek, and he told me make a wish. So I made a wish on a fake eyelash. That was when I decided to get them removed.” In our book, this makes her the office expert on the topic. So we coerced her to write us all a guide to share with the world. Because who doesn’t want to have semi-permanent Bambi lashes, too?

Despite working at a beauty company, I am the laziest of the lazy when it comes to getting ready in the morning. In my ideal world, I would wake up looking exactly as I did the day before—this is why, for most of 9th grade, I slept in my makeup. That doesn’t work and I don’t recommend it.

Then in 2012 came the answer to my prayers: eyelash extensions. Similar to the ones you can get on your head, eyelash extensions are individual lashes, made of silk, mink, or something synthetic, that are attached to your existing lashes semi-permanently. If you’ve ever dreamt of waking up with Bambi lashes but without that ring of leftover mascara dangling a foot under your eye, this is your solution. Curious? At least a little? Good, so get off Google search—here’s everything you need to know about getting eyelash extensions:

  1. It’s a very luxurious process.

Really—it’s enjoyable. You lie down in a bed and close your eyes for an hour and a half while calming music plays in the background and a technician attaches little feathery nothings to your lashes. It’s the most socially acceptable naptime a working adult could ask for. And if you’re not already sold, most salons offer a complimentary massage while you’re on the operating table.

  1. Every lash extension experience is customizable.

When you’re done, you will not end up looking like you just got a permanent strip lash attached to your lid. First, you can choose the length. Most salons will carry extension lengths from 9 to 15mm (or, from natural to Kardashian length). The sweet spot for most is 10-12.

After you pick your length, pick your curl. A “J” curl is for a more natural, awake look, while a “C” curl is a more dramatic, “I never leave home without my Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler” look. If you want to get creative, you can do “J” on the inner corners of your eyes and “C” on the outer edges for a more cat eye look.

Now, in terms of material, you have a lot to choose from: Faux Mink, Faux Fox, Silk, Real Mink, and last but not least, Real Human Hair. The differences between these looks are negligible so opt for the Faux Mink since it’s the most affordable.

  1. Eyelash extensions last longer than you think.

With proper care, I can get my extensions to last up to a month and a half. Most places recommend you come back every 2-3 weeks for a touch up, but if you’re looking to save a bit of money, you can prolong their lifespan. Just be careful not to get water on your lashes and don’t use oily products near your eyes.

  1. Yes, you can wear makeup with them.

If you can’t stand the thought of ditching your smoky eye, don’t worry, you don’t have to. Only liquid-based eye products can be damaging to the extensions, but you can get away with a tiny wing of liquid liner as long as you’re not dragging it along the lash line. Make sure to carefully remove the shadow or liner with oil-free makeup remover and Q-tips for precision. Most importantly, stay away from mascara entirely as it leaves the extensions crusty and damaged. It’s only acceptable if you’re at the end of your cycle and will be getting a fresh set in a few days.

  1. Extensions can ruin your eyelashes—but they don’t have to.

That is, if you don’t play by the rules. I am one of the many people who have made the mistake of pulling out the extensions myself–not only is it extremely painful but it leaves you with few to no natural eyelashes left. However, after what I like to call the intense “eyelash rehab” program of applying Vaseline to my lashes every night, my natural eyelashes were back to normal after a month and a half.

  1. The only way to get rid of them is to get them professionally removed or have them fall out naturally.

Having the extensions removed is as easy as having them put on–painless and relatively quick. Every salon will have this service available. If you’re not looking to spend any more money, however, the extensions do fall out with the natural shedding of your lashes.

Which Eyelash Curl to Use during Eyelash Extensions Application

Thanks for RICARDO SANTOS’s article here. Maybe it’s very useful to many friends.

Which-Eyelash-Curl-to-use-on-your-clients

Which Eyelash Curl to Use during Eyelash Extensions Application?

It seems to be a lot of confusion and doubts about which eyelash curl to use on your clients during the eyelash extensions application, and it is quite simple to understand and if you use this tecnique, your application time will be quicker and will get happy and good return clients.

First things First. Understand that your client`s natural lashes will always dictate which eyelash curl to use on the eyelash extensions application, If you consider that during the consultation, and explain to the clients what can be done and what can be achieved, I guarantee that you are going to have a long lasting relationship with your clients.

Of course there is a lot of other factor that counts for a long lasting eyelash extensions, such as pre-application cleansing, which eyelash extensions glue, poor quality products, but we are talking about which eyelash curl to use on the eyelash extensions application, and its benefit.

If the client have a straight natural lash, you are going to use a straight synthetic lash, the same rule applies for more curled lashes; if your clients have a very curled lash you are going to use a very curled synthetic lash, it is not so much what your client want, it is what is possible to be done if you consider and understand this simple techinique.

In most cases your clients will listen to your advice, as professionals is the Eyelash Extensions Technician job to orientate and advice what is the best option for keeping the natural lashes health and safe.

This is the rule: Always your clients natural lashes will dictate which eyelash curl to be used during the application, never forget that and the application will be right every time, it work for every experienced Eyelash Extensions Technicians, and will also work for you.

Do not forget to use the 2mm distance gap in between the root of natural lash and the synthetic lash, doing that will avoid further allergies from the glue, and will make things easier when doing the infills, because you will know how much the lashes have grown.

How to Extend Your Knowledge of Fake Eyelashes

Sometimes, your favorite mascara just doesn’t cut it. False lashes can really make or break your appearance. First, you should know there are actually many different types of fake lashes. The most common lashes you will see are connected by a strip, but those also come in different sizes and shapes.

You can get more natural–looking falsies, which have very fine hair. But because they are so fine, this makes them very delicate. These are the most popular lashes to use because of how seamlessly they blend with your real lashes. These are great for casual and daytime events.

tumblr_m1bikwgn3c1qdetvy-e90a29c5

Full volume lashes are the opposite of natural ones. These lashes have more hair and are great for bolder looks. Great for events where you want to stand out, like a prom or a party where more edgy looks are appropriate. These falsies are also great for performances or photo shoots, where bolder looks are needed for depth. These are not the ones you would want to rock at a business meeting or a morning class.

Individual lashes are also great for natural looks, as well as eyelash extensions. These lash options are similar, but eyelash extensions are more of a service. These are great for custom lash length and volume, but their only downfall is the amount of time they take to apply.

EYELASHES1

How to Apply Fake Eyelashes

If you are using lashes that are connected by a strip, you will want to make sure you trim the ends to fit your eye shape. Lashes typically come in one size, so before you glue them down, lay the lashes along your lash line. Make sure that they are not lying too close to your inner corner and trim whatever is poking out past your eye. The important thing is to always trim your lashes from the outer corner.

Now comes the tricky part: gluing those suckers down. Usually, there will already be a semi–sticky base to the lashes. This is there so they will stick to packaging, but it’s not strong enough to stick to your eyes.

Take your chosen lash glue and apply to the outer part of the strip. This can be done two ways: brushing on with the application the glue comes with or squeezing the glue out on the back of your hand and gently sweeping the outer part along it. Allow it to dry to the point where the glue is tacky; if you apply while the glue is fresh, you risk making a mess on your eyelids.

Place your lash strip on your eyelid and try to get it as close as possible to your natural lash line. Definitely do not place the fake eyelash on your actual lashes because you will risk tearing out a few of your own. If you have trouble placing the eyelashes by hand, try using a pair of tweezers or an eyelash applicator. Now allow the glue to dry fully on your eyes, but no need to press down and hold them.

If you want to reuse them a few times, try to avoid using mascara to blend them with your natural lashes. Instead, comb through them with a clean spooly brush and apply some liquid liner to blend them on your upper lids. Not using mascara directly on your fake lashes will ensure them a long life.

Before applying single lashes, make sure you set aside some time. Depending on how many bunches you are adding on, this could take up to an hour or two. Because you will be applying more than a few, add a small amount of glue to a clean area, a sandwich bag or a piece aluminum foil will do, and lightly dip the semi–sticky ends, allow to get tacky, then apply where you would like them. The great thing about these lashes is you can apply as little or as many as you want. Reusing them might be a little difficult, but the end result mimics that of eyelash extensions.

Goodyard Eyelash Extensions

Which leads to your next option, eyelash extensions! This is probably the easiest way to achieve the long and full lashes you have always wanted but it is also the most costly. Goodyard Eyelash Extensions is a great place to get the procedure done. The glue typically used is a waterproof acrylate polymer, like the medical glue used to close wounds. They can survive through showering and swimming and last a while as long as you get touch–ups every couple of weeks or so. The stylists will apply each lash extension, one by one, attaching the synthetic lashes to your natural ones.  When looking for a place to try out this innovative process, just remember that you get what you pay for. All You Need to Know About Eyelash Extensions

All You Need to Know About Eyelash Extensions

Lash extensions have become hugely popular in recent years. From celebrities and stars to the women at your work, and ones you see on the street, ladies everywhere are obtaining beautifully full and long lashes with lash extensions. If you’re wondering whether you should try it out yourself, here’s everything you need to know before diving in and getting glued.

Eyelash Extensions Pros and Cons

Like any beauty treatment, eyelash extensions can have both pros and cons. Their biggest benefit, however, is the way they look. There’s no denying that eyelash extensions are a great way to get the lashes of your dreams without having to apply them every morning. They’ll also save you time on your makeup routine as you won’t need to curl your lashes and apply mascara. Some lashes do need maintenance, though, including regular brushing, special cleansing and sometimes even blow drying. Although they’re incredibly long lasting, eyelash extensions also need regular touch ups, which costs money. Despite being somewhat pricey, a lot of women find that they’re worth the investment and provide great results.

Are Extensions Bad for Your Natural Lashes?

It’s a common misconception that eyelash extensions damage your natural lashes. If the extensions are applied correctly and not pulled out, they will not damage your lashes or your eyes. Just make sure to visit a professional technician for the application. Although the glue used in the process is safe, be aware that some women can experience allergic reactions and tell your technician if you experience any stinging or pain. Once the eyelash extensions have been applied, they will take some time to grow out. If you decide you don’t want to keep up with the upkeep of your new lashes, you will experience an awkward growing out phase as your lashes naturally grow out with the extensions attached.

Getting eyelash extensions should always be a pain-free experience when done right. If you’re concerned about the sensitivity of your eyes, make sure to ask your lash technician about the glue before beginning. The glue shouldn’t contain anything to harm your eyes, such as formaldehyde.

How Long Does it Take to Apply?

In the process of eyelash extension application, each lash is individually adhered to a single natural lash using semi-permanent glue. For a full set of lashes, this process will generally take around two hours. During this time you will need to keep your eyes completely closed to ensure correct application and safety. If you’re wanting eyelash extensions on a budget, or are looking for a more subtle effect, consider getting a half set of lashes instead. A half set will still have a great thickening appearance on natural lashes without the drama of a full set. It will also take less time to apply and cost less.

While the lashes look good, they stop abruptly just shy of the inside corner, creating an un-natural, unfinished look.

By finishing those inside corners you get a more natural, beautiful, finished look.

So how do you get to those pesky little lashes that are so quick to hide away once you’ve placed your tape or eye pads?

Use your fingers to gently pull the outside corners away from the nose and tape. Doing so will spread out those inside corner lashes making them more visible and easier to isolate. Pulling the skin just under the brow bone up and taping will also bring those little lashes out of hiding and make them easier to see.

Mastering the inside corners will not only make your sets look more beautiful, it will truly set you apart as a lash artist. Because they’re so tricky, and because you can still product a pretty set of lashes without covering all the inside corner lashes a lot of lash artists continue to avoid them. There are still a lot of lash artists who haven’t mastered the art of shaping, or who don’t see the need for it. Be the lash artist that goes above and beyond for your clients! Strive for fully completed sets and mastering the art of shaping. You’re sets will look SO much better and your business will thrive because of it!

Reschedule at Each Appointment

Pinning down a fill or follow-up appointment in person is key. So often, clients forget to schedule over the phone or online and then end up falling through the cracks. Be as visual as possible when doing this and show your clients your calendar and let them choose the date.

Follow Up

If there’s a client you haven’t seen or heard from in awhile, reach out to them! Sometimes the lack of a follow up appointment are purely because the client forgot or became too busy to contact you. If there’s a reason for them not returning, listen! Which leads us too…

Listen to Feedback

It may sting, but turn the negative feedback into positive action. Constantly improving your technique and business practices will keep your clients coming back for more.

Give Loyalty Perks

Give your clients a reason to keep coming back through loyalty perks. You can decide which works best for your clientele and business, but things like a punch card, a free fill after every 10, etc. are great ways to show your clients you appreciate your business. It also gives them incentive to stay loyal with one lash artist-YOU!

Be Transparent

Let your clients know the state of their eyelashes, how to care for their lashes, etc. If a client wants a very dramatic look but their natural lashes can’t handle the weight, let them know! Being honest and working through problems together will create a good artist-client relationship. The healthier their lashes look and feel, the happier the client will be!

The Top 4 Reasons your Lash Extension Sets Aren’t as FULL as You’d Like!

Every lash technician has the same goal – to provide the fullest lash extensions possible for each client. We all crave to provide that “wow” factor whether classic or volume lashing. If your sets aren’t making you swoon check these tips out to make sure you aren’t making any of these common mistakes!

  1. Improper Isolation

New Lash Artists always have one main struggle – and it’s usually about how to wrangle one tiny, itty-bitty natural lash between their tweezer tips to isolate it. We know it seems impossible sometimes but don’t cut corners! You may not think it’s a big deal if an extension gets applied to two natural lashes but its a HUGE deal! First of all, it cuts the potential for fullness in HALF! Think about it! If a client has 100 natural lashes per eye, and you apply the majority of extensions to two natural lashes, your potential goes from 100 extensions per eye to 50! Secondly, you WILL cause lash damage – ouch! Natural lashes aren’t all growing at the same rate. If you adhere multiple natural lashes together with lash adhesive, the natural lash growing slower will be pulled (and stressed) by the lash growing faster. This leads to stress, breakage and thinning of the lash line and breaks the cardinal rule of lash extensions: THOU SHALT NOT CAUSE DAMAGE!

  1. Not Extending Every Lash

A beautiful lash line has a large variety of different lashes mixed within it depending where each natural lash is in it’s growth cycle. Some lashes are just growing in, some are mid-growth and some are full mature lashes. Some lash companies teach to skip the smaller lashes – but that’s because back in the day we only had 0.15 and 0.20 diameters in our lash extension ranges! Now with diameters as thin as 0.05 there is NO reason why we can’t extend each and every natural lash with an extension. Shorter natural lashes get shorter, thinner extensions to keep them happy and healthy, while mature strong natural lashes get extended with length and more thickness. The result is fluffy, texturized lashes that look realistic and full!

  1. Coating Natural Lashes in Adhesive

A little lash adhesive goes a LONG way! Gone are the days of “painting” the entire natural lash in adhesive. Its unnecessary and stressful on the fragile tips of the natural lashes. To secure a lash extension to a natural lash dip 2mm of the extension base into the adhesive and apply securely to the base of the natural lash. The result? Instead of REPLACING thin natural lashes with a thicker extension by coating the entire natural lash into the bond and losing it — we ADD an extension to each natural lash which instantly DOUBLES the fullness in the lash line. The final result is fuller, softer lashes that are healthier, softer, and last longer!

  1. Too much length

Inevitably, the more you extend the natural lashes in length, the more spaced out the tips of the lash extensions will be. By keeping lash extensions only 2-3mm longer than the natural lash, they will look denser and more full opposed to super long sparse lashes. No one wants spider legs on their eyes, lashers! Tone it down for a classier look! And if you’re going to give them more length, add more texture within the lash line for multiple focus points (a method we teach in our upcoming ONLINE classes called Texturization which teaches a formula for perfectly full fluffy texture no matter how long the lash extensions!).
