How to Actually Pull Off That Hair-Tucked-into-Your-Sweater Thing

Anyone who follows street style with any regularity is surely familiar with “the hair tuck” by now. You know, that insouciant move where you leave your hair loosely half-tucked into a sweater or sweatshirt as if you couldn’t be bothered to flip it all the way outside the neck hole.

Although it might not seem like there’s much to mastering this style, there are in fact a few key elements and styling tricks that are essential to pulling it off properly. Here are four things to keep in mind before you attempt the tuck.

Make it messy.

One critical aspect of the sweater-tuck is that it shouldn’t look deliberate. “The whole point of this look is for it to seem very relaxed and like you almost mistakenly have your hair tucked inside your sweater or jacket,” says a senior stylist.

Now we’re not saying you can completely abandon styling, but a few strategically placed flyaways are crucial. “Add a few pieces falling out around your face and volume in the back, [and] you are good to go, ” he suggests. Pull baby hairs out around the face in a random manner to draw attention to your tuck. These wispies will also add movement—even if the majority of your hair is hidden.

Add lots of texture.

DeCarlo explains that this look will work on a range of hair types from straight to curly, but retaining texture is important no matter the hairstyle. Second- or third-day hair, which has grittier hold, is actually ideal for this look.

To get that effortless vibe, use a curling iron to enhance texture and movement, advises DeCarlo. Tease select pieces on the crown to give overall fullness and make the hair look less haphazard. Follow your teasing with a dry texture spray and/or dry shampoo to remove any excess oil.

Think of your hair as a scarf.

This is an ideal look for fall not only because it requires that you wear a sweater, but also because you’re likely to need all the added layers you can get. In lieu of reaching for a scarf, think of your hair as a big bundle of warmth. Just be careful to avoid wrapping your hair too tightly around your neck—the faux-beard look isn’t what we’re going for here.

Dress appropriately.

All the tousling in the world won’t make a difference if you’re not wearing the proper clothes for this look. We’re not saying you need to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe—just make sure to throw on a loose sweater, turtleneck, or collared jacket the next time you want to try the hair tuck, says DeCarlo. These garments will make your hair the center focus while anchoring your strands in place.

Funny how much advance planning goes into looking like you didn’t try, right?

Hairstyles from the “Game of Thrones” TV Series

I think every girl and woman has seen these epic TV series of “Game of Thrones.” The power struggle, intrigues, passion and fantasy makes these series so popular and must-seen. Today we are going to speak about this movie’s hairstyles that look antique, Renaissance and Middle Ages inspired. I will show you how to make the same styles and layering as in “Game of Thrones.”

Hair Symbolism is felt in these gorgeous and goddess-like styles that are made by TV series hair stylist Kevin Alexander. He has created timeless looks that are so popular among many girls and women. Kevin showed us his own beauty-world of “Games of Thrones”. The stylist was inspired by Mayan, Indian cultures. It’s like a time machine that takes us back to the medieval times.

Look at Cersei, Daenerys and Sansa who appeared in so eye-catchy looks. You are about to see tousled waves, twisted tresses and braided up-down dos that are timeless and are perfect for wearing at special occasions.

Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke)

Emilia Clarke who plays role of Daenerys Targaryen looks amazing and she has kind of tribal touch in her styles, as each of the styles evokes her strength, warrior instinct and power. She’s the mother of dragons and her gorgeous blond locks underline her character. Her tousled waves make her look romantic and feminine. Her braids are known as Dutch braids and they are quite easy to achieved. This look is comprised of four braids split into two pairs across two sections of hair. If you want something fresh, then Targayen has another amazing look: voluminous braid.

Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey)

Cersei Lannister is a real witch-princess, who has a diabolic spirit, which is hidden under her romatic waves and braided sections. She chooses romantic locks that make her look sweet and charming. Her charming styles will look amazing on a beach holiday, as well as at the summer parties and casual events wearing along with maxi dresses. These braided and wavy hairstyles will look intricate and as you can see they are easily to recreate.

2

Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner)

Sophie Turner who plays Sansa Stark appears in voluminous styles, including easy as well as complicated hairstyles. I personally love those double-braid styles that feature long and flowing locks. Indeed, some of the Sansa’s styles are the simplest ones that feature the Game of Thrones series. But keep in mind, that the key to this look is well groomed locks with no split ends, so you have to make a sleek look before recreating any style that is showcased below.
